Anyone who installs or uses the Font Software — to create printed materials, websites, apps, logos, videos or anything else. Both the final beneficiary and any entity working with the files on their behalf must hold a valid licence or be covered by a Sharing Extension.

You need a Personal licence for your own use. Your client also needs their own licence for any ongoing independent use (website, future materials, etc.).

If your client already holds a valid licence with a Sharing Extension, you are automatically covered while working on their behalf — check with them first.

Your agency needs a Studio or Company licence to work with the files. Your client needs a separate licence for their ongoing use.

Alternatively, if your client purchases a licence with a Sharing Extension, you are covered for the duration of the project without needing your own licence.

Yes. When doing so, your client is the Licensee — the licence covers their entity, not yours. You still need your own valid licence for your studio to work with the files during the project.

Yes. All tiers include logo, wordmark and visual identity use. You can modify characters in outline form and use the resulting mark in perpetuity — provided a valid licence remains in place for the entire period the logo is in use.

No. Web use (WOFF2 embedding via @font-face) is included in all tiers at no extra cost — on an unlimited number of websites with no pageview or bandwidth restrictions. The WOFF2 file must be served in a way that prevents direct download.

Without a Sharing Extension, you can share a single copy with a developer or print provider for a specific project, provided they delete it upon completion.

For regular collaboration with external contractors, add a Sharing Extension to your licence.

Any employee, contractor or agent of the licensed entity who installs or uses the Font Software — including remote workers. Independent contractors with a separate legal entity are not Authorized Users and need their own licence or Sharing Extension coverage.

Upgrade to the appropriate tier within 30 calendar days. You only pay the difference between what you already paid and the new tier price — not the full amount again. Use the upgrade option directly in the shop, or contact us at info@formetype.ch.

Yes. Upgrades are straightforward — you only pay the difference between your current licence and the new tier. In the shop, tick "Upgrading an existing licence?", select your current tier, and the deduction is applied automatically to your total.

Your existing font files remain valid. You’ll receive a new EULA for the upgraded tier once payment is confirmed.

Yes. If you purchased individual styles and later want the Essential pack or Full family, you pay only the difference. Use the upgrade option in the shop or email info@formetype.ch with your original order details.

Yes — perpetual, no renewal required. The licence has no expiry date as long as you comply with the EULA. No subscription, no annual fee. Free updates to the licensed typeface family are also included.

No. Font files may not be modified, renamed or used to create derivative typefaces. The exception is vectorizing characters for logo use — those outlines can be modified as part of a custom wordmark.

Yes. All tiers cover video game use — UI, menus, subtitles, in-game graphics. The font must be embedded so players cannot extract it.

Yes. Send proof of enrollment to info@formetype.ch and we will send a discount code. The student licence is for personal and academic use only — commercial work requires a full Personal licence.
